Your account & your devices
milliWatched has no email address and no password. Your account is a code held in your device's Keychain, which iCloud carries to your other Apple devices. If a second device is not showing your diary:
- Sign into the same Apple Account on both devices.
- Turn on iCloud Keychain in Settings → Apple Account → iCloud → Passwords.
- Open milliWatched and give it a moment — it syncs when the app becomes active.
A device that made its own account will have its own diary. There is no way to merge two, so set up the second device before logging much on it.
Troubleshooting / FAQ
- How do I log something I watched years ago? Choose a precision first — Exact, Month, Year, Approx or Unsure — then the value. "Over five years ago" and "no idea" are both real answers, and the diary shows them as you gave them.
- I watched it twice. Log it twice. Each viewing keeps its own date, rating and note; nothing is overwritten.
- Why does "Where to watch" look empty? It leads with the services you have chosen. Pick yours in You → Streaming services, or tap Others to see everything available for that title.
- Wrong country for streaming and release dates? Set it in You → Your country. milliWatched only ever asks for a country, never a finer location.
- How do people follow me? Give them your sharing ID from the You screen. Following is one-way: they see your diary, and you decide separately whether to follow them back.
- How do I stop someone seeing my diary? Block them from their row in You → Followers & following. Blocking removes the follow in both directions and cannot be got around by anyone changing their sharing ID.
- Can I hide when and how I watched something? Those are hidden by default. Followers see what you watched, your ratings and your comments; dates and viewing methods are switched on by you in You → Sharing & privacy.
- My sharing ID is out in the wild. Replace it in the You screen. The old code stops finding you, and everyone already following you is unaffected.
- How do I delete my account? You → Delete everything. It removes your diary, your list and your account from the server immediately. There is no undo and no way to recover it.
- Where does the film and TV information come from? The Movie Database, with streaming availability from JustWatch. The app never contacts them directly — see the privacy policy.
