Your diary is yours
It is not sold, not used to advertise to you, and not shown to anyone you have not chosen to share it with.
milliWatched does keep your diary on a server, because it syncs between your devices and can be shared with people who follow you. This page says exactly what that means. There are no accounts to create, no analytics, no advertising identifiers, no tracking, and no third-party SDKs that collect anything.
Who you are to us
There is no email address, no password, and no name that has to be real. When you first open the app it creates an account for you and stores a private code in your device's Keychain. That code is the only thing that opens your account.
- A private code, kept in your Keychain and stored here only as a one-way hash
- A public sharing ID, which is what you hand to someone so they can follow you
- A display name — two random words to begin with, and you can change it to anything
- Your country, and nothing more precise than that
Your country decides which streaming services and release dates you are shown. milliWatched never asks for, infers, or stores your location beyond it.
What is stored
What you put into the app, and nothing you did not:
- Your viewings — which film, series, season or episode, when (as precisely or vaguely as you said), your rating, your note, and how you watched it
- Your Want to Watch list
- The streaming services you told it you have
- Who you follow and who you have blocked
- Your sharing settings
Films and television are recorded by their identifier in The Movie Database, not by anything about you.
Who can see it
Only people you let follow you, and only what you allow. Following requires your sharing ID, which is yours to give out and yours to replace.
- A follower sees what you watched, your ratings and your comments
- When you watched something and how you watched it are hidden until you switch them on
- Someone you have blocked sees nothing at all, and cannot get around it by changing their sharing ID
A setting that is off is not merely hidden on your screen — the withheld information is never sent to their device in the first place.
Where the film data comes from
Film, television and person information comes from The Movie Database, and streaming availability from JustWatch through TMDB.
The app never contacts them directly. Requests go to milliWatched's own server, which asks on your behalf using its own credentials — so TMDB and JustWatch do not receive your identity, your device, or your diary.
Where it is kept
On Cloudflare's infrastructure, which milliWatched uses for its server and database. No other company is given your data, and none of it is sold, rented, or shared for advertising.
Server logs record which requests were made, without your comments, your viewing history, or your private code.
Deleting everything
From inside the app: You → Delete everything. It removes your diary, your list, your relationships and your account.
It is immediate and irreversible. Because there is no email address and no password, there is no channel through which a restore could ever be authorised — so nothing is kept back to undo it with.
Children
milliWatched is not directed at children, and it asks for nothing that identifies anyone. It shows information about films and television from The Movie Database, which covers work of every rating.
Changes to this policy
If milliWatched's privacy practices change, this page will be updated before, or at the time, any change takes effect.

Never include your private account code in an email. Support does not need it and cannot use it.
